James Milton Murray, the son of Jourdan and Nancy Murray was born Sept. 10, 1890, in Roubidoux, MO., and died June 1, 1978, at the Good Samaritan Nursing home in Moscow, Idaho.

He attended Southwestern Teachers College in Springfield and taught school before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1918. Following his discharge in 1919, he taught school in Missouri and after moving to Idaho he continued as a teacher and was superintendent of schools in Canyon County, Idaho; Elk River, Idaho and Hay, Wash.

His first wife, Allie Beatrice Corbett preceded him in death in 1939.

On June 2, 1946, he married Vera Jones in Moscow, Idaho. They retired in 1959 and lived in Juliaetta for 17 years before moving to Moscow two years ago. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Moscow Masonic Lodge.

Survivors are his wife, Vera at the nursing home in Moscow; one daughter, Myrna Heutt of Westminster, California; three stepdaughters; one stepson; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
