Franklin Hunt Broyles was the son of Andrew Coffee and Louisa Eliza Hunt Broyles of Tennessee. He went to Nebraska to work and accepted a job as driver for Dr. Nichols, then began to "read" medicine and study to become a Doctor himself. He enrolled in the Kansas City Medical College and graduated in Mar. 1887. His early practice was in Kansas and Nebraska before moving to Bethany, Missouri in 1900 where he and his family resided until his death. He met and married Leila Watkins whose family resided north of Auburn, Nebraska in Glen Rock township. They had three children, Glen, Watkins and Elizabeth, who all became doctors.
