Born in 1908, in Henderson, Texas, son of William Langley Jacobs (1878-1957) and Clara Esther Jacobs, née Oakley (1886-1967). George married Iris Edwards, of Jefferson County, Oklahoma, in 1937. George was deployed with the US Navy during World War II, serving in the Pacific, including at Okinawa. He died in 1987 in Tarrant County, Texas, following an automobile accident. He was preceded in death by his wife Iris Edwards Jacobs (1908-1986), and survived by two sons and five grandchildren.
