Funeral services for Avery Abbott, 21, of Murchison, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Stone officiating. Interment will follow at Post Oak Memorial Cemetery near Malakoff under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Ms. Abbott passed away on March 26, 2022, in Jacksonville.

Avery Ladon Abbott was born November 16, 2000, in Athens, the daughter of Tammy Lynn (Abbott) Wilkins. She graduated from Brownsboro High School in 2019 and attended Tyler Junior College. Avery was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church of Brownsboro and currently worked as a server. Her dog, Blue, and her cat, Sadie, held a special place in her heart along with her friends, who she enjoyed making memories with. Avery will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents.

Survivors include mother, Tammy Wilkins and husband Bryan of Murchison; two sisters, Alexus Abbott of Malakoff, Kinley Dyer of Palestine; grandparents, Beth and Rickey Abbott of Murchison; aunt and uncle, Judy and Michael "Stretch" Jenkins of Pecos; cousins, Elizabeth and Gretchen Kozlovsky and friends, Victor A. Silva, Autumn Carnahan, and Gavyn Young.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 2022, from 6-8 p.m., at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
