Anthony V. Palmisano, age 78, entered eternal rest on Friday, June 25, 2010. Son of the late Anthony Palmisano and Olivia Comesana Palmisano Martin. Brother of Salvador A. Palmisano, Sr., Julius P. Martin, Jr. and the late Dorothy Authement. Beloved husband of Evelyn. Father of Craig, Karen, Donna, Robert, Cindy, and Glen. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Mr. Palmisano was a former employee of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Avondale Shipyard. Former owner and operator of Anthony's Cleaners. A member of the Boy Scouts Troop 15, St. Bernard Rotary Club, St. Bernard Veterans Association and Marine Corps League - Paul E. Boyd Detachment #579. He was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for over 70 years and a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Relatives, friends and former co-workers are invited to attend the visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA 70043 on Monday, June 28, 2010 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will be performed at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church at 11:30 AM on Monday, June 28, 2010. Military Honors and burial immediately following at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Second Harvest Food Bank, as well as any Catholic charities.
