Amherst Pioneer Dies
John R.[sic] McDowell, of Amherst, a resident of that locality for forty-nine years, died last evening. He was eighty-one years of age. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon from the United Brethren church in that city, with the Rev. Daniel in charge. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Marian Broadfoot, of Amherst; Mrs. Cornelia Day of Miller; and Lavern McDowell, of Lincoln.
