Walter H. "Shotgun" Bridges, 76, of Pocahontas, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 24, 2022, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS.

He was born in Walnut, MS to the late John Wilson Bridges and Callie Pearl Garrett Bridges. After serving in the US Army from 1966-1968 in Vietnam, he worked as a carpenter. He also had been an engineer on a riverboat and a truck driver. Mr. Bridges lived most all of his life in the Pocahontas Community of Hardeman County and, in his leisure time, enjoyed the lottery, casinos and time spent with this dogs, "Goober" and "Little Man".

He leaves three sisters, Linda Ragan of Walnut, MS, Betty Whisnant of Pocahontas and Elizabeth Hopper of Tiplersville, MS; a special friend, Peggy Spencer of Michie; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by a sister, Lila Bridges; and three brothers, Howard Bridges, Donald Jackson and Johnny Jackson.
