Pioneer Citizen Of Steep Hollow Is Buried Today

At the family home in the Steep Hollow community, five miles east of Bryan, on Monday afternoon at 7 o'clock, Jacob E. Bullock passed away after a lingering illness. He was on of the pioneer settlers of the Steep Hollow community and a resident farmer of Brazos county for more than 60 years.

Mr. Bullock was born in Louisiana, November 10, 1951, and with his father's family came to Texas and to Brazos county when he was 15 years of age. He grew into manhood, married, reared his family and died in the old Steep Hollow community.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Steep Hollow Baptist church, with the pastor, Rev. R. L. Brown, conducting the services. Following the service at the church the body was interred in the family burying ground. The grave of the deceased one was covered with flowers sent as tributes of love and esteem from many absent loved ones who were unable to attend the funeral service.

The deceased is survived by his widow, four sons and two daughters: T. E. Bullock, W. H. Bullock, Elmer Bullock and Amzy Bullock, all of Steep Hollow community; Mrs. B. A. Risinger, Steep Hollow, and Mrs. Brooks Beal of Bryan. Two aged brothers of the deceased the last of the original family, also survive, J. C. Bullock of Abilene, and Nathan D. Bullock of San Angelo.

A large number of friends of the deceased from Bryan, Hearne and other adjacent towns attended the funeral.
