Rev. Broach was born on August 19, 1949, in Williamsburg County, son of the late James Robert Broach and Janie Bell Lynch Broach. He was a graduate of Hebron High School and served in the United States Air Force. Rev. Broach ministered in The Church of God of Prophecy for 50 years, pastoring for 26 years in several churches in South Carolina and Virginia. He was a licensed auctioneer in South Carolina and worked in antiques all of his life. For the last several years, he specialized in rustic folk art (handmade yard art). Rev. Broach loved his family and enjoyed talking and ministering to people as well as working in his garden and flowers.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Edward "JE" Broach and infant sister, Virginia Broach.
