Abraham D. Canales, age 71, of Edgerton, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, March 20, 2022.

The son of Ninfa Canales Lopez, he was born on November 14, 1950 in Chiapas, Mexico. Abraham or as we affectionately called him "Dad," had a beautiful story on how he came to the United States. Shortly after his biological mom passed away, he was raised in an orphanage until the age of seven. Ninfa (his adoptive mother) was a Missionary who frequently visited the orphanage where Abraham was being cared for. After seven years of visiting Abraham at the orphanage, Ninfa brought Abraham home to the US as her own and the rest was history. Dad was a hard worker and provided for his family by working at Sauder Woodworking for 20 years and also for Franz Nursery for 20 years.

He enjoyed going to his grandchildren's sports activities, bonfires and cookouts with his family that he dearly loved and he liked to go fishing. Dad also liked to watch the news, Western and war movies and he loved to drop the word, "duh!" He gave his life to Jesus in October 2021 and Dad lovingly praised the Lord while battling his illness. For five years, five months he made great strides with his health while overcoming an esophageal disorder.

Abraham was preceded in death by his mom, Ninfa Canales Lopez; wife, Eva P. Canales and infant daughter, Ninfa Canales. Dad will be deeply missed by his loving children and grandchildren, Abraham C. (Sarah) Perez, Sammy Canales, Johnny Canales, Christina Amy Canales (Steve Reiniche), Nancy Marie Canales (Junior Puente) and Nina Canales (Manuel Arias) and fifteen grandchildren.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Grisier Funeral Home, 109 S. Defiance St., Stryker, Ohio 43557.
