Billy Boyd Caldwell, 67, of Athens, Alabama, died Tuesday, March 8th, 2022, peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Billy was born on January 28th, 1955, to Boyd and Mary Caldwell in Memphis Tennessee. After graduating from Central High School, he went on to study Civil Engineering at Christian Brothers University. After graduation from Christian Brothers University, he worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority for 12 years.
GOD masterminded a plan for him to move to Alabama and meet his future wife, JoAnne Day Burleson whom he married in 1988.
In 1995 he and his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he spent 2 years working at an engineering firm before GOD revealed another plan for his family to move back to Alabama without Billy ever putting in a job application or submitting a resume.
Billy was very active in the New Covenant Emmaus Community where his faith in GOD grew continuously. He was a PRAYER WARRIOR. When someone asked him to pray for them, he stopped in his tracks and prayed. He was a faithful member of Friendship United Methodist Church for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father Boyd Caldwell and his mother Mary Caldwell.

He is survived by his wife JoAnne, whom he loved with all of his heart for 33 years and was his soulmate. He is also survived by his children Wade (wife Heather and their kids Drake, Kennedy and Lily Peyton), his daughter Joy Caldwell White (husband Jason and their kids Addison, Mason and Dawson), his daughter Rebekah Caldwell Owens (husband Victor and their daughter Spencer Kate), and his youngest daughter Laura.
