Jeanie McGinnis, age 66, of Versailles, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022, at her home in Versailles. She was born May 24, 1955, in Kansas City, Kansas, daughter of the late Charles and Lenita (Allen) Choate.
On August 21, 1976, in Kansas City, Kansas, she was united in marriage to her surviving husband, Phil McGinnis.
Jeanie worked for the City of Versailles as a city clerk and was also a court clerk for twenty-eight years until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time relaxing on the beach. Jeanie loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Eldon.
In addition to her husband, Phil, she is survived by her children, Emily McGinnis, Austin McGinnis and Kayla Wilson and husband Tim all of Versailles, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Haley, Brycen, Hunter and Tayler Reynolds, Kaden McGinnis and Cole and Ragen Wilson; her brother, Don Choate of Parkville, Missouri and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Choate and sister, Janice Choate.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 24th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Brother Wayne Dinwiddie officiating.
Graveside services and interment will follow in the Versailles Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
