Betty Louise Bohannan was born on November 7, 1932, in Cedar Vale, Kansas, the daughter of Newton Franklin and Mabel Izetta (Lister) Bohannan. She graduated from Cedar Vale High School in 1950.
She was joined together in marriage on July 25, 1951, in San Diego, California. To this union, four children were born.
In her early years, Betty worked as a secretary at the school in Cedar Vale. She later worked at the Benner-Williams furniture store as an interior decorator. When the store closed, Betty owned and operated her own antique store called "The Attic." She loved anything antique or collectible, was an avid garage saler, and loved filling Christmas sacks for her family with all of her special buys.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, and former member of the Osage City Chamber of Commerce.
Betty will forever be cherished and remembered by her husband; two daughters, a son, twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, four brothers, and her son, Floyd Chester Boss, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 21, 2022, at the Community Covenant Church in Osage City. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM at Cedar Creek Cemetery, west of Cedar Vale, Kansas. Family will receive friends Sunday evening, March 20, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Community Covenant Church in Osage City.
