A native of Nashville, Tennessee, son of the late Bill H. Simpson and Violia Duke Drennon, he was a US Air Force veteran, a retired employee of South Carolina Department of Transportation, and was dedicated to his family and the church.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Jean Lockaby Simpson of the home; one son, Keith Simpson; two brothers, John Simpson (Joy) of Spero, OK and Charles Nichols of Pensacola, Florida; one sister, Suzanne Dobbins of Lexington, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Aneah Lockaby and Bill and JoAnn Phillips.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2022, at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Gene Lockaby. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
