She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, of 68 years, John Pickney Acuff; two brothers, Leroy Cox and James Cox; one sister, Lannie Moore; and one son-in-law, Rusty Herring.
Dixie enjoyed quilting and was an award-winning cook, even holding the title "Pecan Pie Queen". She was a high school graduate and was retired from Serta Mattress. Dixie was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son John David (Carol); daughters, Wilma (Edward "Rusty") Herring and Tracy (William) Wesche; grandchildren, Jennifer Owen, Allison Wehrum, Julie Herring, Meighan Pendergrass, Erica Picard and John Monteverdi; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother Luther Cox; sisters, Annette Smith, Linda Wilkins, and Brenda Davis; and her dog, Tinker Belle.
Visitation will held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 201 N. Pine St. in West Memphis, Arkansas from 1:00-2:00 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2022. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.
Mrs. Acuff will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
