Martin Gene Baine, son of Martin Russell Baine and Virginia Bell Ruth (Smithson) Baine, was born February 24, 1936 in Tyronza, Arkansas. He departed this life Wednesday evening, February 9, 2022 at 9:25 PM at West Tennessee Healthcare in Dyersburg, Tennessee with all of his children present. At the time of his passing, Martin attained the age of 85 years 11 months & 13 days.
Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Carolyn (Redmond) Baine, married on November 24, 1956 in Griffith, Indiana. Others preceded him including his brothers Alfred Lee and Billy Ray.
A funeral service honoring the life of Martin Gene Baine will be conducted Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 12 Noon at Gilead Church near Simpson, Illinois. Pastor Doug Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in the Gilead Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Illinois National Guard Burial Honors Detail and the Beggs-Gurley VFW Post # 5222.
Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10 AM – 12 Noon at the church.
For the benefit of those unable to personally attend the service, the ceremony will be live-streamed on the Bailey Funeral Home Facebook page and will be archived for later viewing.
Following the interment, a luncheon for family and friends will be served in the church fellowship hall.
