Mrs. Tommie Lou Vaughan Steele, 98, of LaGrange made
her heavenly flight on August 10, 2020. Mrs Steele was born
on Feb 21, 1922, in Heard County, Georgia, to the late James
Henderson Vaughan and Mary Lee Bailey Vaughan. She was a
loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother who deeply cared
for the needs of her family. Mrs. Steele was a faithful member of
Baptist Tabernacle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Isiah H Steele, children Richard Scott
Steele, Melinda Ann Steele, and Aliska Steele Baker; grandchildren
Shane Nave and Terry Baker, Jr; siblings Mosley Vaughan, Pearce Vaughan
Quillan Vaughan, Pauline Adams and Mary Steele; son in law Doyal Smith.
Survivors include her children, Sandra Cornwell (Hugh), Thomas Steele
(Ange), Elaine Nave (Eddie), Jack Steele (Jo), James Steele, and
Jennifer Kaye Steele; 16 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and
19 great, great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday
August 14, 2020 at 11am at the Baptist Tabernacle with Rev Jimmy
McMillian and Rev Sid Shelnutt officiating. Internment will follow at the
Centralhatchee Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends on
Thursday evening, August 13, 2020 from 5 to 7pm at Baptist Tabernacle.
