James Alex Wise was born September 18, 1912 in Arden, AR, the 3rd child of Hattie Mae Crews and James Nathan "Jim" Wise. He was a life-long resident of the Texarkana-Ashdown area and worked as a service station operator. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He married Anna Mae Masley December 23, 1933 in Little River County AR and they had 2 children. At the time of his death, he was married to Charlene Cook.
