Funeral service for Mrs. Wilma Delois Conn Addison (Aunt Wilma), 93, Ringgold, Georgia, formerly of Gadsden, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Crestwood Funeral Home. She passed through the vail Saturday morning, May 14, 2016.

Mrs. Addison was preceded in death by her husband of almost 64 years, Shirley Earl Addison ("Uncle Earl"); her parents, James William Conn and Molly Estelle Lowe Conn; brothers Julius (Pauline) Conn, J.D. "Red" Conn and Kenneth Conn; sisters, Carmen Conn Tully, Frances Conn Martin, Jeanette Conn Head and Betty Faye Conn.

Mrs. Addison is survived by her daughter, Candace Addison (Scott) Marshall; her niece whom they raised, Linda Tully (Larry) Harris; grandchildren, Jason (Joy) Harris and Allison Starr; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Harris and Madison Harris; brother in-law, Tommy Head; sisters-in-law, Lena Floyd Conn, Shirley Conn and Joyce Addison Garrett; as well as a vast number of nieces and nephews and extended family.

Mrs. Addison was the fourth of eight children born and raised on a farm near Gallant, Alabama, in St. Clair County, where her parents, Willie and Estelle Conn, were prominent members of the community. She attended Ashville High School. For several years, she worked at Dwight Cotton Mill in Alabama City. When the mill closed down, she went to Keevil Curl Cosmetology School and opened a beauty shop behind her house. Mrs. Addison loved everyone she met and always displayed a kind and loving heart.

She always wanted to help in any way she could and never hesitated when presented any task. She was never one to complain and was always smiling. She was a woman of honor, integrity and courage who, in 2011, at 88 years of age, readily moved to Ringgold, Georgia, with her daughter and new son-in-law, excited about again living on a farm. She preferred being outside, and she was always working. She loved gardening, mowing the yard, attending Church and gathering with friends and family. She was a great Christian role model, an amazing precious mother, a faithful friend, and a true angel sent from God to be on this earth to bless everyone in whom she came into contact. Now she is again whole and well and with her Savior and beloved family members who have gone before her.
