of rural Keytesville, Missouri died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002 at the University Hospital & Clinics in Columbia, MO. He was the son of Godfrey and Elizabeth (Rohwer) Gebhardt. Eldan was a lifelong Chariton County resident. Eldan married Lorene Biere on August 7, 1943 in the Salem Lutheran Church at Forest Green and she survives of the home. Mr. Gebhardt was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and he was a retired farmer.

Eldan was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Edgar Gebhardt, 3 sisters, Selma Biere, Flora Gebhardt and Ida Gebhardt and a nephew, Emerson Biere. Survivors include his wife, Lorene, a son and daughter-in-law; Eldan Eugene and Caron Gebhardt of Salisbury and a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Roger Pilkenton of Columbia, MO, three grandchildren, Mathew, Caleb and Emily Gebhardt and one niece, Mary Etta Gebhardt of Glasgow. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb 18, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery.
