On Wednesday evening, March 9, 2022, Carol Lynn Thompson, 75, of Abilene, passed peacefully into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. and funeral services will follow the next morning on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 11 a.m. Both events are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, TX 79606.

Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 US-277 S., Abilene, TX 79606.

Carol was born in Abilene, TX to George D. and Juanita Harris on August 3, 1946.

She attended Abilene schools all the way through to Abilene High School, graduating in 1964. She married Larry Thompson on August 17, 1964 in Abilene, Texas. She was a dedicated, stay at home mom to her two daughters for many years before working as a parts clerk for Sears & Roebuck for 20 years until her retirement in 2002.

She and her husband Larry were members of the Grace Baptist Church of Potosi.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, George D. and Juanita Harris, her brother, James "Jim" Harris, sister, Judy Giles, father-in-law, Lewis M. Thompson, mother-in-law, Flora Thompson, brother-in-law, Gerald Thompson and son-in-law, Ronald Revland.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Larry Thompson; children, Kim Allen & husband Bill of Fort Worth and Sandra Revland of Abilene; four grandchildren, Katelyn & husband Micah, Bryce, Hali & husband Alex, and Matthew; four great-grandchildren, Troy, Trinity, Ozzy, Bonnie and many lifelong friends.

Pallbearers will be Bill Allen, Bryce Allen, Matthew Price, Raymond Price, Micah Campbell and Dylan Moore. Greg Young will be providing the music for the service.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to a charity of your choice or to The American Diabetes Association.
