"Sallie" Ruthven was wife of George Ruthven, daughter of Medora Jane Coffman Smith and William Thomas Smith (1850-1902). She was the sister of Pearl Smith Cain, Ethel Iris Smith McCracken, and Essie Lora Smith Finegan. Their mother, Medora, was daughter of John Franklin Coffman (1805-1884) and Elizabeth Irvin Cobb (1813-1888) of Hopkins Co, KY. Medora's mother (according to DNA evidence) was descended from Ambrose Cobbs (1603-1655)(#41180724), who emigrated from Kent, England to the vicinity of Jamestown, VA about 1635, less than 30 years after the first American colony was founded.
