An Addington resident since 1913, Jesse Clyde Edgar, died suddenly Monday afternoon Dec. 29, while working cattle on the price ranch near Addington.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 31, from the Addington Baptist Church with the pastor, Jimmy Rich, as officiant. Burial was in the Addington Cemetery under the direction of the Worley Funeral Home.
Casket bearers were John Henry Price, Dale Youree, George Smith, Blackie Webb, Jerry Don Smith, and Bobby Wheeler.
Edgar was born at Fleetwood, July 28, 1892, and on Dec. 23, 1913, he was married in Waurika to Irene Ryan. Vows were read by the late G. Lyle Smith.
Following his marriage, Edgar moved to the Addington community and had lived there since. Six children were born to this union, one baby dying in infancy.
He had been a member of the Baptist denomination for 47 years.
Survivors are the widow, Irene; two sons James Ryan Edgar of Duncan and John Patrick Edgar of Comanche; three daughters, Mrs. Jennie Elizabeth Ray of O'Brien, Texas, Francis Bernice Edgar of Addington, and Mrs. Mary Kathryn Smith of Duncan; one brother, Haskell, of Addington; and nine grandchildren.Husband of Irene Scott Ryan.
