Vice Admiral Sir George Thomas Henry Boyes, KCB, was one of ten children of John and Sabina (Meredith) Boyes. Two of his brothers were Major General John E. Boyes and Midshipman Duncan E. Boyes, VC.

Birmingham Gazette and Express (Birmingham, England), Monday, March 21, 1910:

"The funeral of Vice Admiral Sir George Boyes, KCB, at one time Director of Naval Transport, who died at Winchester after only a short illness, took place at Golder's green on Saturday. Among those present were Admirals Inglefield, Rainer and Poland; Lieutenant Gerald Maltby, RN, Colonel C. P. Ridley, and a number of other officers."
