Mr. Karas served proudly in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. He was the founder and owner of IT Computer Source, based out of Chandler. An avid practical joker, "Big Jim" also enjoyed small dogs, photography, classic rock, and spending time with friends and family.
Mr. Karas is survived by his fiancée, Lori Miller of Arizona; his children, James Karas Jr. and his wife, Jacqueline, of West Bridgewater, and Tyler Karas, Toria Karas, and Amelia Miller, all of Arizona. He is also survived by two brothers, Steven Karas and his wife, Susan, of Falmouth, and George Karas and his wife, Diane, of Taunton; a sister, Virginia Karas of Hull; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Karas was predeceased by his parents, Stradi and Thelma Karas of Hingham; and his sister, Barbara Callahan of Hull.
