Robert Eddie Alexander was born on September 24, 1946 in Beaumont, Texas and passed away on February 28, 2022. He attended Sunset High School, graduating in 1965. He attended North Texas State University for a short time before enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he was selected to be in an intense language training program to learn the Russian language. After about eight years in the service, he spent his career working in electronics and radio communication. He was retired from the City of Irving where he helped maintain the city's Police and Fire Department radio communication equipment. He was an avid ham radio operator. His radio license call sign was "W5AH" and he was well known in the ham radio community for his knowledge of antenna technology, he published articles on this topic, and often gave lectures on this subject at various ham radio functions. His wife, Pat preceded him in death in 2017. Robert is survived by his sister, Patsy Alexander and many cousins. Interment will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
