McWhorter, Ruth Ruth McWhorter was born in Ennis, Texas on May 28, 1933. She lived in DeSoto, TX since 1972 until her passing on December 4, 2008. She is survived by her husband, William L. McWhorter; daughter, Ruth Ann McWhorter; son, W. Leon McWhorter and wife, Diane; grandchildren, Scott Phelps and wife, Mary, Michael Phelps and wife, Erica, Brian McWhorter and wife, Brooke and Elizabeth McWhorter; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark McWhorter. Visitation will be from3-5 P.M. Sunday, December 7, 2008. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 8, 2008 in the Jeter & Son Chapel. Interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
