Timothy "Tim" Robert Anderson, 58, of Aitkin died peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born May 24, 1963 in Minneapolis to Luverne "Vern" and Elizabeth "Betty" Anderson. Tim grew up in Burnsville until his junior year in high school when his family moved back to Aitkin where his dad grew up. He graduated from Aitkin High School in 1981 and attended Brainerd Vo-Tech where he graduated with a 2-year accounting degree.

Tim lived for a time in Minneapolis and Las Vegas before moving back to Aitkin. He married Pauline Sticha from New Prague in 1992 and they made their home in Aitkin and never left. Tim worked for Grand Casino where he started as a blackjack dealer using his love of playing cards and later was head of the training department. He was currently working at Members Cooperative Credit Union as the Regional Bank Manager of Aitkin and McGregor where he loved his interactions with members and employees.

Tim spent many hours outdoors doing all the things he loved to do in Aitkin County including hunting, trapping, fishing, biking, camping, kayaking, cross country skiing or anything else he could talk someone into doing. His passion for the outdoors and nature was passed down to his kids and all those who knew him. No trail was ever too long to walk, paddle, bike or ski and he was NEVER lost…well maybe just once.

Tim loved playing cards or games or anything competitive including "old man" basketball as he referred to it. What he loved most was watching his kids in all their high school activities and cheering them on. He was a proud Dad. And for the last 15 months his greatest joy has been his grandson, Kolbe, whom he adored, and the love was so mutually returned.

Tim is preceded in death by his father, Vern in August 2020; brothers in law and sister-in-law, Donn Zimanske and Francis and Bernie Nelson.

Tim is survived by his wife of 29 years, Pauline, their children, Alex Anderson of Kellogg, ID, Ryan (Lindsey) and grandson, Kolbe Anderson of Deerwood, Lisa (Parker) Nudell of Aitkin. Tim is also survived by his mother, Betty; siblings, Tom (Dana) Anderson, Lori Anderson, Heidi (Chad) Larson and Eric (Amy) Anderson; brothers/sisters in law, George (Diane) Sticha, Norbert (Arlene) Sticha, Marilyn (Kevin) Phelps, Gilbert (Sue) Sticha, Glen (Amy) Sticha and Theresa Zimanske; many other special friends and relatives.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, from 4-7 PM in St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin with a rosary to be said by the Knights of Columbus at 7 PM. Visitation will continue Monday, March 7, from 9:30 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin with Father David Forsman officiating. Interment will be in Diamond Lake Cemetery. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Aitkin.
