Don and Betty Davies, 64 and 67, went to heaven together, hand-in-hand, after injuries received in a car accident in Grapeland Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005.
Don and Betty were members of New York Avenue Church of Christ, where they worked together in many areas of the church and caring for everyone they met.
They enjoyed having people in their home, where Betty cooked extensive meals for anyone in need.
Don was born and raised in Post and graduated from Texas Tech University before joining the Army in 1963.
After being discharged from the Army, Don moved to Michigan to work as a computer programmer at Ford Motor Company.
He met and married Betty, a certified dental assistant, in Detroit. They lived in the Detroit area until Don retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years.
Betty was born in Corinth, Miss. She moved to Detroit, Mich., when she was 16.
After retirement, they moved back to Texas.
In life, they did everything together, including traveling around the world and going on camping trips with friends in their motor home. They enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals and garage sales with friends and family members.
