Born on June 19, 1913, in Cooke County, Texas, to Walter Pervia and Jewel Dallas Mabry Rowland, she died on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at an Ardmore health care facility. She and Richard Omer Weathers were married in Stephenville, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 23, 1965; a daughter, Virginia I. Cowley; two sons, Jim W. Weathers and Ray Rowland Weathers; her parents; a grandson, Breck A. Weathers; four brothers, Pervia Rowland, King Rowland, Estol Rowland and Thaddeus Rowland; and two sisters, Ivy Bragg and Julia Lester.
A homemaker, she lived the last part of her life in Love County and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Roy O. Rowland; a sister, Nita Nadine Presley, Garland, Texas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Gerry Cowley, Earl Cowley, Bobby Cowley, Beverly Campbell, Michelle Campbell and D'Ann Herrod. Honorary bearers are Roy Rowland and Dale Harvey.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
