Norma Jo Hightower McCawley, 84, of Houston, passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2022.
Norma was born September 22,1937, in Liberty, Tx, to Johnny William Hightower and Virgie Lula Kingston Hightower, who predeceased her. She married Oscar Eugene (Gene) McCawley in 1957 and settled in Baytown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Eugene McCawley, brothers Cloyes, Douglas and Aubrey Hightower, beloved sister-in-law Margaret Hightower, and grandson Conner Ryan McCawley.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Carla McCawley Badeaux Eggerman, of Houston, and son, Richard Eugene McCawley and wife, Pam, of Dayton, Tx; brothers Donald Hightower and wife, Sally of Laguna Beach, CA, Delbert Hightower of Tyler, Tx, sister Darlene Fitzhenry and husband, Bill, of Brenham, Tx, sisters-in-law Rita Hightower Henderson of Tyler, Tx, and Millie Hightower of Whitehouse, Tx.
Grandchildren Scott Badeaux and wife, Alana of Cypress, Tx, Tyler Eggerman and fiancée', Emily Schelnick, of Houston, Tx, Morgan Broyles and husband, Jacob, of Baytown, Tx, Travis McCawley of Silsbee, Tx, Jacob McCawley of Silsbee, Tx, Grace McCawley and Andrew McCawley of Dayton, Tx. Great-grandchildren Kailynn Broyles and Everett Badeaux, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Norma had a special bond of friendship with Carol Yokimcus of Georgia, for over 40 years.
Cremation is being handled by Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home. There will be no service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association
