A 1952 South High graduate, she married Jim Peka on January 22, 1956. Dorothy worked at Mutual of Omaha, M.U.D., and the Daily Nonpareil. After she retired, she was even a coat-check girl for a while at Harrah's, walking to work just to give herself something to do.
One of the friendliest, happiest, and luckiest women around, she really enjoyed playing bingo and games of chance. She was an avid football fan; but especially loved Husker football. She loved her family, children, animals, and every opportunity to visit with loved ones.
