Dorothy Faye Cook, 80, passed away in Merced, California on March 1, 2022. She was born in Keota, Oklahoma to Kirk & Letha Brigance, on December 23, 1941. She lived in Oklahoma until her family moved to California in 1942, settling in Chowchilla. This is where Dorothy would later meet her husband, Gerald D. Cook, Sr.
Dorothy and Gerald initially made their home in Chowchilla, then Sunnyvale, and returned to the Central Valley of California where they lived in Merced. They opened a few fast food restaurants; Jerry's Drive Inn (2), and Jerry's Fish & Chips.
Together, Dorothy and Gerald were involved in a dune-buggy club; Merced Runabouts, where they made lifelong friends. They also enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing / boating on the Delta, and long Sunday drives.
Dorothy is survived by one sister; Eveleen Lancaster (Ken), 2 children; Deanna Flowers and Gerald Cook Jr. (Bobbi), 5 granddaughters; Ashley Cook, Melissa Pearson (Eric), Katlyn Cook, Jennifer Flowers, and Stephanie Cook, 1 great-grandson; Liam Pearson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother; Lenford Brigance (Bonnie), and one grandson; Steven Flowers.
