Catherine Marie Ziefel, 59, of Nineveh, Pa., passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Washington Health System - Greene, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born October 7, 1962 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late Jack E. and Mary R. (Mueller) Buzza. Catherine was a member of the St. Matthias Parish and retired as an administrative officer at SCI - Greene. She enjoyed sewing, baking, crafting, boating and especially spending time with her family. Catherine had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a "mom" to many and was an animal lover. Most especially, she cherished spending time with her grandson, Jack. On August 19, 1989, she married David F. Ziefel, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Justin D. Ziefel of Nineveh; a daughter, Christa Marie Mitchell (Michael) of Carmichaels, Pa.; a grandson, Jack W. Mitchell; two brothers, John Buzza (Ranae) and Steve Buzza, both of Pittsburgh; a sister, Mary Ann Scheller of Eden Prairie, Minn. and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public viewing. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the St. Matthias Parish at St. Hugh, 408 Route 88, Carmichaels with the Rev. James Farnan as celebrant.
