June A. Curry, 85, of Brandenton, Fla., formerly of the metro-east area, born May 29, 1918, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Friday, May 28, 2004, at Freedom Village Nursing Center, Bradenton, Fla.

Mrs. Curry attended the Congressional Church in Homewood, Ill. She was a member of the Manatee River Garden Club and the Camelia Circle. Mrs. Curry loved to read.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clyde William Curry (m. 1941); and her parents, Simon Peter and Emma Lina, nee Kantz, Branstetter.

Surviving are a sister, Anna Marie Branstetter of Brandenton, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Gladys Lobstein of Fairview Heights, Ill.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of South West Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla., 34238, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Visitation: There will be no visitation.

Funeral: Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill., with the Rev. Mark Harris officiating.
