John V. "Jack" Rowland
Bossier City, Louisiana - Services for Mr. John V. "Jack" Rowland, 64, of Bossier City, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday December 15 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Dr. John Lee, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Bossier City, will officiate. Burial will be Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Mr. Rowland, a resident of Bossier City since 1946, died Sunday December 11, 1988, at Bossier Medical Center after sudden illness. He was born in Crane, Missouri. Mr. Rowland was service manager for Moore's Tire Co. for 28 years and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and past president of the Louisiana State Square Dance Association, and a member of the Barksdale United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Robinson Rowland of Bossier City; two sons, John Wayne Rowland of Bossier city and Michael Stephen Rowland of Benton, Louisiana; one sister, Bessie Sharp of Lincoln, Missouri; three brothers, Johnathan Rowland of Kansas City, Missouri, Robert Rowland of Missouri and Birchie Rowland of Clever, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Marietta Rowland of Topeka, Kansas; and four grandchildren, Patrick John Rowland, Sarah Jane Rowland, Joseph Victor Rowland and Alexandra Michelle Rowland.
Pallbearers will be Barney Moore, Jim Smith, Roy Boyter, Henry Cantrell, Dan Hutinson and Mark Pilgreen.
