Daughter of Hobert and Patsy Ash Fortenberry. She was an honor graduate of Habersham Central High School, Class of 1975, attended the University of Georgia, and graduated from Truett-McConnell College with an Associates degree in Business Administration. She worked for the Federal Reserve for over 13 years and retired in 1996 to assist her husband in their family business. She was the co-owner of Ayers Offices Products, Inc. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Glenda Ayers Irvin. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Johnny Ayers of Clarkesville, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Anna Ayers and Fabian Lliguin and their children, Bella and Johnny Lliguin of Delhi, NY, and Joni Lynne Ayers and her children, Max and Ella Hill of Nolensville, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Coni and Gene Petty of Richmond, VA; brother-in-law, Kenneth Irvin of Demorest, GA; nieces, Amanda and Matt Hane and their daughter, Madeline Hane of Richmond, VA, Delaine and Marty Blazek and their children, Jonah, Noah, and Micah Blazek - all of Naperville, IL, and Lori Beth Irvin of Naperville, IL.
