Clifford was one of 14 siblings(twin to Hazel). He married Ellen Tofsrud. They lived near Northwood, North Dakota, and they had four children; James, Darryl, Cynthia, and Steven.∼Clifford Ostlie was born April 28, 1912, the son of Syver and Josephine Ostlie, near Northwood, where he grew up and attended school. He married Ellen Tosterud in 1946 in Crookston. They lived and farmed near Northwood until retiring in 1977. He is survived by his wife; sons, Darryl (Louise), James (Audrey) and Steve, all of Northwood; a daughter, Cynthia (Donald) Auger, Columbia, Mo.; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild, brothers, Allen, Northwood, Lawrence, Wahpeton, N.D., and Arnold, Seattle.
Clifford Ostlie, 85, Northwood, died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, in United Hospital, Grand Forks.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Hazel, Arthur, Herbert, Clarence, Gilmore, Orie and Noel; and a sister. Marian Fletcher.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday in Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, Northwood.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in Bilden Funeral Home, Northwood.
Burial: Bethania Cemetery , Northwood.
