He was a Chaplain with the Connecticut Troops and one of the last to retreat from Long Island in the battles of White Plains and Harlaem.
In the History of Delaware County (New York) by W.W. Munsell it says that he was the minister of the Presbyterian Church when he died in 1818. It was also stated that his was the first tombstone in the graveyard at Moresville.
