CAMDEN -- Mary Elizabeth Oswalt Brumbaugh, of rural Camden, daughter of Glen Dale & Hettie Bower Oswalt, passed from this life at 4:45am, Tuesday-August 23, 2022, at the home of her son Denver. She was born December 3, 1924, in Darke County, OH. She passed at 97 years, 8 months, & 20 days.

She was a member of the Old Brethren German Baptist Church, to which faith she held faithful to the end. She was united in marriage on January 22, 1944, to Herman D. Brumbaugh. To this union was born 4 children. Their early married life was spent in Darke Co., OH. Later in the year of 1970, they moved to their home in rural Carroll County, near Camden.

Surviving are: Norma Best (friend John Keller) of Greenville, OH, Betty & Lael Royer and Denver & Regina Brumbaugh of Camden, Ivan & Shawn Brumbaugh of Delphi. 6 grandchildren: Michelle & Matt Kennedy of Logansport, Amy & Daryl Brumbaugh & Mark & Sarah Royer of Delphi, Ellie & Richard Brumbaugh, Keith & Mary Brumbaugh, & Ethan & Deborah Brumbaugh of Camden. 21 great grandchildren survive.

Preceding in death, were her parents, her husband Herman, a grandson Glen Dale Brumbaugh, a brother J. Jude & Marilee Oswalt. 6 sisters: Dorothy & Gene Ewing, Edith & Fred Flora, Martha & Ezra Brumbaugh, May & Lloyd Flora, Ruth & Charles Diehl, & Annie & David Grim. A daughter in law Kellie Brumbaugh. As she lost her loved ones, she reached out and became "mom" & "Grandma Mary" too many others.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the members, neighbors, and friends, for their acts of kindness and sympathy during this time of bereavement, and willingness to return the same if the occasion arises.

The Brumbaugh family invites friends to visit, Thursday-August 25, 2022, from 1pm to 8pm at the home of Denver Brumbaugh, 2917 N. 200 W. Camden, IN 46917. Graveside service with the casket open will be Friday-August 26, 2022, at 9:30am, at Musselman Cemetery, Camden. Funeral service will follow at 11am at the Old Brethren German Baptist Church, with home brethren officiating. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, is assisting the family with arrangements.
