Albert E. Wiegand, age 81, passed away on November 26, 2020.

Albert was born on July 24, 1939 in Muskegon, Michigan to Edwin & Bernice (Bevins) Wiegand. He spent his early childhood in Blue Lake Township, and then in Muskegon. When he was a teenager he lived with his father and grandmother at Clear Lake. He graduated from Holton High School in 1957. At age 17 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the military for 21-1/2 years. He was a Viet Nam veteran.

On September 7, 1963, he married Patricia Vermilyea. They lived numerous places while Albert served in the military, both abroad and state side. Al retired from the Air Force in 1978 and moved his family to Blue Lake. He then attended Muskegon Community College and worked as a computer technician, retiring once again in 2001.

Albert enjoyed traveling, gardening, wood working, and mostly enjoyed watching his grandchildren as they participated in high school sports. He was a loyal fan. He enjoyed family gatherings and spending time together.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter Debra (John) Hirons; sons, Mark (Ann) Wiegand and David (Jennifer) Wiegand; grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; sisters, Edna (Charles) Peterson and Eva (Robert) Zittle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepparents; a brother Tom Wiegand; one daughter and one great grandson.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Holton Oakwood Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
