Eleanor Marie Scoma Barker, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, March 3, 2005.
Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Chapel. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Memorials: May be made to the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) in Fort Worth, 2901 N.E. 28th Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76111.

Pallbearers: Malcolm Duke, Cal Pearson, Lee Fallon, David Herring, Morgon Duke, Christopher Herring and Preston Pearson.

Eleanor was born Sept. 2, 1914, the first child of Tom and Rosie Scoma. Eleanor Barker or as she was affectionally called, "Gran," "Sis," "Scoogie," "Ish," and "Mother," was an accomplished painter and gardener. She loved her many grandbabies and spending time with family and friends. Before her husband's death in 1996, they both loved to travel with her sister "Nannie," and brother-in-law, Paul, to Mexico and Colorado. Eleanor was a lifetime resident of Fort Worth and graduated from Central High School in 1932. Over the years she worked for several department stores, including Cox's and Sears. She retired from Sears at Seminary South as assistant manager of the jewelry department.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Roy D Barker Sr.; and brother, Pete Scoma.

Survivors: Daughter, Patsy Goins Coppick and husband, Don; son, Roy D Barker and wife, Margaret; sister, Angie Andrews; grandchildren, Carolyn Duke and husband, Malcolm, Toni Pearson and husband, Cal, Angie Fallon and husband, Lee, Tracy Herring and husband, David, Roy D Barker III and wife, Jane, and Kim Jiminez and husband, Adrian; great-grandchildren, Morgon and Mally Duke, Christopher and Amanda Herring, Preston and Callie Pearson, Olivia Fallon, Cara and Brent Barker, Tristen and Casey Jiminez; nephew, Paul Andrews Jr.; and niece, Deborah Hartman.
