"Ronald W. 'Captain' Andreas, 61, of 706 Church St., Palmerton, died Thursday, April 6, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Wolfe) Andreas for 34 years.

He was employed by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Ambulance Squad for 30 years before retiring in 1977.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Oliver C. and Hattie M. (Mertz) Andreas.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Palmerton.

He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Fire Police for many years; a 40-year member and former captain of the Carbon County Fire Police; president and captain of the Palmerton Fire Police, and a life member and former treasurer of the Palmerton Ambulance Company.

Survivors: Wife; daughters, June A., at home, and Sara L. of Budd Lake, N.J.; brothers, Wayne of Allentown, Miles and Richard, both of Palmerton, and Carl Sr. of Nesquehoning, and sisters, Thelma, wife of William Bonser of Palmerton, and Florence, wife of Albert Borbe of Lindenwood, N.J.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Call 6-8:30 p.m. Monday, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday in the church.
