Eugene Williams, 82, of Mission, SD passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

A Wake and Rosary service were held on Thursday, February 24th, 2022 beginning at 2:00PM at the Father Paul Hall in Mission, SD.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 1:00PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Winner, SD. Burial followed in the Winner City Cemetery.

Gene M.Williams, 82, of Mission, SD was born to Kenneth and Clara (Sand) Williams on August 26, 1939 in Portland, Oregon. "Geno" grew up in Witten, SD.

He attended High School in Winner, SD. At an early age Gene decided he wanted to work alongside his father Kenny moving houses. He worked construction, tended bar, and performed in various bands in the surrounding area.

Gene married Martha (Andrews) on June 11, 1963. He and Martha gave birth to 6 children. James, Katherine, Jeanie, Marty Jean, Mary and Jeffrey.

In 1978, Gene took on a Business venture which came to be known as Geno's Bait and Bite. He was a longtime member of Bass Masters Federation, School bus driver for 33 years while raising 5 children in the Mission area. Gene was grandpa to 17 grandchildren, and 8 great grand children.

Gene was a friend to everyone in his community. Gene will be remembered as a Pillar in the community due to all the people he affected during his lifetime. He was thankful for everyday he was allowed to walk the earth and helped those less fortunate than himself. He is remembered fondly by many family members and his friends will remember "Geno" for his honesty, trust, compassion, and love of life.

Geno is survived by his wife Martha, and five children, 17 grandchildren, and 8 great grand children, as well as two brothers, Jerry Williams and Jack Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Clara Williams, paternal grandparents Harry and Gretchen Williams, maternal grandparents, John and Elizabeth Sand, and infant daughter, Marty Jean.
