Services will be Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.

Barbara was born in Davenport, IA, on December 29, 1928, to Carl and Thelma (Pope) Johnson. On August 16, 1950, in Davenport, IA, she married Harry Lamon, who preceded her in death on February 25, 1989.
Barbara graduated from Villa Chateau in Rock Island, IL. She worked at Petersen Von Maur in the South Park Mall; she particularly loved working in the children's department. Barbara was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, active in the Women's Group, Bible Study, and would help serve communion. She was a 60-year member of the Silver Chalice Chapter of King's Daughters, P.E.O., D.A.R., and the 20th Century Women's Social Club.
Barbara enjoyed playing bridge, reading, traveling to the cabin in Minnesota, and she loved watching the wildlife in her yard, especially the deer.
Survivors include her children: Virginia Thompson of Port Byron, IL, and Mark Lamon of San Francisco, CA; granddaughters, Shaina Wagner of Milan, IL; Samantha Makl of Davenport, IA; and grandson, Jett Decker of Morrison, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Virginia Hellburg, Ellen Crawford, and son-in-law, Jerry W. Thompson.
