OLD RESIDENT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP SUCCUMBED LAST NIGHT TO PARALYTIC SHOCK
Alfred A. Disney of Oakland died last evening of a paralytic stroke. He had not been ill, but had suffered from two previous strokes. Mr. Disney was 51 years of age. At the time of his death he was tax assessor of Oakland township, which position he has held for a number of years. He has held other positions of public trust since he has lived in Shawnee county.
Alfred A. Disney was born in Illinois, January 26, 1851, and came to Kansas in 1855. He lived many years in Monmouth township in Richland, and engaged in farming. He was a member of the state militia at the time of the Price raid on the border, in a company commanded by his father, and participated in the Locust Grove fight, when the company lost three killed, three taken prisoners and three wounded out of a company of twenty-three, the strength of the company.
He was married to Miss Clara Zircle (sic) in 1870. Seven children are now living. The eldest, L. G., is justice of the peace of Oakland township.
