September 7, 1960 – January 12, 2022

Charles Albert Anderson passed away peacefully on January 12 after a brief illness. He was born in St. Paul Minnesota in 1960 and grew up in Beaverton. He graduated from Sunset High School in 1978. After high school, he attended Portland State University briefly before joining the Air Force. After 20 years in the Air Force, he retired and returned to Beaverton briefly before moving to Hillsboro. He then worked at Evergreen Aviation and Quantum Aviation Services before settling in at Anderson Forge & Machine where he worked for the last 11 years.

He was a humble simple man who lived a very simple life. He didn't seek out objects or status, but rather spend moments with the people around him. Whether that was a family event, going out with friends, or meticulously selecting winners for the annual college football bowl pool just to get bragging rights over everyone, especially when he placed 1st in 2012. He was a man of honor, integrity, loyalty, compassion, absolute in his faith, and full of love for his family, friends, and country. He always put people first and was eager to lend a hand. He judged people by the content of their character, treating all with dignity, respect, and equally.

He always brought a little bit of his lighthearted attitude and skip into your presence. He would always be laughing, smiling, and cracking a joke or witty remark. His laugh was an unmistakable chuckle, to which, as a child was known by family as Chuckles. He adored his nephews by attending many games of the sports they played, graduations, and other events, including golfing. He was a big kid with a huge heart. He loved watching sports, specifically Oregon Duck Athletics, being a longtime football season ticket holder. He loved traveling, especially on trips to Las Vegas to gamble and to follow his beloved Duck football team. GO DUCKS.

He was proud to serve his country in the Air Force. He served honorably and with distinction. While serving, he supported the Air Force's inventory and material management supply chain through various positions which lead him being stationed at numerous bases both home and abroad, including bases in Grand Forks, Italy, England, Fort Ord, Korea, Nellis AFB, Kuwait, McChord AFB, Germany, and Andrews AFB. He participated in Operation Desert Shield & Desert Storm and Operation Iraq Freedom. He earned various medals, honors, and decorations. He also served on the Air Force's Honor Guard and Security Police. He was honorable discharge as a Technical Supply Sargent upon retirement.

Charles will be remembered by many as a co-worker, a friend, a loved one, and someone who generously gave to others both financially and with his time. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Lilla; sister, Barbara; and brother, Steven. He is survived by his brothers, Dale (Linda), David (Katherine), and Bruce; an aunt and uncle; and many nephews and cousins.

A memorial service to celebrate Charles' life will be held on Monday February 28, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Willamette National Cemetery, 8098 SE 112th Ave., Portland.
