Mr. Amason passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. He was born in Randolph County and graduated from Randolph County High School; he was a long time cattle farmer and past president of the Randolph County Cattleman's Association, and was instrumental in founding and operating several businesses throughout his life. He was a founding member and organizer of the Clay County Rescue Squad and also the Pine Grove Fire Department. Mr. Amason had served for many years as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon of Pine Grove Baptist Church but in recent years had been attending Olive Branch Baptist Church. He was the former owner of Clay Concrete Company, Amason Auto Parts, and Amason Tire as well as Edgewater RV Park, and worked for several tears as a sales rep for Moorman's MFG. Co. Fred was very active and had served for several years with the Gideon's and had served as the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Clay Baptist Association for over 21 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynward Amason and Mamie Jane Heard Amason, his sister, Dolly Mae Warren, and two brothers, Barto Amason and William J. Amason.
