Juanita Pearl Davis was born in Macclenny, Florida on August 3, 1927 to Mae Thomas Dennard and James Walter Dennard. The Dennard's lived in the Springfield area of Jacksonville, Florida. Juanita's parents divorced when she was very young. Her mother married Carl Irvin Wise in 1935 and the family moved to Myra Street in Riverside. Although not legally adopted by her step father, Juanita, and her sister Bonnie, began using his surname "Wise." Juanita graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1945.
In 1947 Juanita married William C. Davis. The couple lived in Baltimore, Maryland for several years before moving back to Jacksonville in the late 1950s. In 1960 Juanita and Bill adopted a son, William Eric Davis. Tragically her husband Bill died in an automobile accident one month after the adoption. Juanita raised son Billy in the Mandarin area where she lived close by to her parents and sister and worked as a realtor. Her son passed away in 2010. Juanita passed away at the age of 94. She is survived by three grandsons.
