Gardner M. Albro, 86, of 34 Renfrew Ave., a chemical engineer for the Dupont Co., Parlin, N.J., for 32 years before retiring in 1967, died Tuesday at home. He was the husband of Isabel E. (Morgan) Albro.
Born in Newport, he was a son of the late James and H.E. May (Mills) Albro.
Mr. Albro was a 1928 graduate of the Rhode Island Special School, now part of the University of Rhode Island, with a degree in chemical engineering. He received his master's degree in chemical science in organic chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Before working for Dupont, Mr. Albro worked in Brooklyn, N.Y., as a consulting chemist. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Middletown.
Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Kirsten L. Mann of Newport and Nancy Fox of Palo Alto, Calif.; four grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
